In order to help you determine whether our course, Blackjack Without Tears, is something you would like to take part in, we invite you to browse through several informal little essays we have written about what we have to offer, as well as a couple of testimonials, reviews, and newspaper stories. The first essay summarizes the principal ways our program differs from some of the other blackjack courses that are available. The second essay describes our teaching philosophy. Next is sort of a cross between my biography and a history of blackjack. The theme of the next exposition hints at little known techniques which are part of the complete Blackjack Without Tears course. A short story about how I became interested in blackjack and the early days in Atlantic City follows under the title "My Blackjack Biography."
The Blackjack Without Tears program starts with a basic understanding of the game of blackjack. A basic understanding of the game includes basic strategy, card counting and money management. We have repackaged the general format of learning card counting into an easier to learn format. First we group all the possible hands (called settings) into four groups - High Hards, Low Hards, Softs and Pairs. The high hard settings differ from the low hard settings because the high hard settings are never doubled down on due to the possibility of receiving a high card and busting. The soft group all have an ace in them, while pairs are two cards having the same index value (the court cards have an index value of ten). Unlike other sources of information about card counting, you are not required to memorize tables of numbers to know what to do. We use colors and shapes. This information alone will enable you to level the playing field and turn the odds in your favor.
We would like as many people as possible to take off the blinders when entering a casino. That is why, we are offering the first part of the Blackjack Without Tears course, Card Counting, as an on-line tutorial in the Count Room. We want you to become part of an ever growing group of knowledgeable players.
In putting together our comprehensive study course,we have but one intention: to turn you into a winner. By winner, we don’t mean a player who wins all the time. There isn’t any such thing. To us, a winner is someone who understands the game, who understands the behind-the-scenes machinations of the casinos, and who has a realistic idea of what to expect.
Keep in mind that the skills necessary to play winning blackjack are not learned overnight. Rather they are acquired with study, patience, practice, determination and money. Be prepared to lose. Deviations from the norm are expected. Even the best of players experiences statistical variations in win rates and you should not expect or think of a predetermined outcome for any particular playing session. Blackjack has to be thought of from the perspective of a continuous game. Think of what you learn from this course as one set of skills you will take with you whenever you go into a casino. You will be in charge of the game, not at the mercy of it!
