Playing The Game
Three card poker is a very simple casino game that any child could learn. There are no rounds of betting, raising, calling etc. There are two options a player has in this game. The player can play the pair plus option, or the ante/play option. The player may also play both if he or she so chooses. Let's go over these options...
Pair Plus
One option a player has while playing three card poker is the pair plus option. When playing the pair plus, the player places their wager on the pair plus spot and hopes to receive at least a pair with their hand. The player is not concerned with the dealer's hand or the other player's hands. The three cards dealt to the player are the only three that matter. The pair plus should be considered a "suckers" bet. If looking at this game from a mathematical point of view then it can easily be understood why. Go to the probabilities & payoff page to get a better understanding on the chances of outcome.
*The reason why so many people play the pair plus, are the intriguing bonus payoffs, they are much greater than those of the ante/play option*
Ante/Play
Another (better) option a player has while playing three card poker is the ante/play option. When playing the ante/play option, the player places their wager on the ante spot and receives their hand. If the player does not feel that their hand is playable, then the player folds and loses the ante bet. If the player likes the hand that they received, then they place a wager of equal amount to the ante on the play spot. The players hand is compared to the dealers hand to decide who is victorious. If the dealer does not qualify (dealer needs a queen or better) then the player receives a 1:1 payoff on the ante but not the play spot. If the dealer does qualify, and the player has a better hand, the player receives a payoff of 1:1 on both the ante spot and play spot. If the dealer qualifies and has a better hand than the player, then the player loses both the ante and play wagers that was placed on the spots. It is possible for the player and dealer to tie, in this case there is a push where there is no loss or win.
*Although not as intriguing as the pair plus bonuses, the ante/play option will still receive bonuses nonetheless*

game, not at the mercy of it!
